Custom sandboxes
Bring your existing stack, from Rails and Java to Go, Python and Node.
Not every project starts from scratch. Custom sandbox images wrap AI-assisted engineering around the stack you already run.
What it supports
Custom sandboxes are built for existing codebases in Rails, Java, Go, Python, Node and multi-process backends. Your codebase keeps its structure, and Automo works inside it.
How changes land
Every AI change lands as a governed branch. Human approvals happen before merge, and Guardrails policies apply as they would to any other project.
When to use one
- You want AI help on a codebase that is not React and Supabase.
- You are modernising a legacy system in steps.
- Your team needs changes reviewed in its usual way before they ship.
Setting up a custom sandbox usually involves your team. See Custom sandbox images on the website, or talk to Automo through automo.build.
