# Choosing a catalog

> Pick a smaller or read-only set of tools by changing the server address.

The server offers the same tools through a few addresses. Each address is a catalog: a set of tools your AI tool sees.

## The catalogs

- `https://mcp.automo.build/mcp` — the full catalog. This is the default.
- `https://mcp.automo.build/mcp/core` — a smaller operator set: the tools that hand work to agents, plus the most-used operate and observe tools. Fewer tokens per turn. The plugins default to this one.
- `https://mcp.automo.build/mcp/observe` — read-only. Good for dashboards, or a tool that must never write.

## Builders only

Append `/builders` to remove the tool that prompts the project's main agent, so every instruction goes to a builder subagent:

```
https://mcp.automo.build/mcp/builders
https://mcp.automo.build/mcp/core/builders
```

Set it per client, or per project folder in your MCP config. It is not available on `/observe`.

## When a tool is missing

Calling a tool that is not in your catalog returns "not in this profile", with the address that has it. Switch to that address if you need the tool.
